How important is piano in your beats?
Well do you even use a piano or do you just sample?
I personally stay away from sampling for:
- Copyright Issues
- I love creating beautiful beats from scratch
Now that does not mean sampling is bad! Just how I go about making my beats. I do recommend you practice sampling to learn “all areas of beat making” so that you can take and use different techniques in different areas at different times etc.
So if you are like me, and always use a piano in your productions, learning the piano is very important.
Learning different scales, learning how to improvise, meaning to be able to just sit down and play the piano without having to read sheet music etc.
So here in this video I break down the scale of C Major. Remember, no black notes! Improvisation will come with time, but just keep following the tips in the video, practice your inversions and you will eventually be able to start improvising on your keys!
This is an important part of the video. At the end Beatstruggles is about to launch a business idea to help save you guys as producers money on your sound packs. If you can sign up for the mailing list below, it will help the process go smoother and only save you money. I will keep you guys up to date with that for sure!
But for now, watch the video. If you guys have questions or are confused in certain areas, drop a comment below or email me at GratuiTous [at] Beatstruggles.com.
