What’s the Difference Between a Buddah Statue and The Cross?
What do you Mean Nothing!
Well what I mean is the cross necklace you are wearing, the cross that is in the front of your church, or even on top of your church is an idol.
But didn’t Jesus die for our sins on the cross?
Ya, obviously, people probably know that story better than any other “bed time story” ever heard.
It’s not the cross that gets us to heaven, IT’S JESUS’ BLOOD.
When Jesus died on the cross, He died for our sins. It has nothing to do with the cross. Nothing about the cross is holy, righteous, or any other Bible terminology you can think of for being right in God’s eyes.
This purely comes down to Christ’s Blood Sacrifice that atones us from our sin!
Where is your evidence Mr. GratuiTous
Well, obviously, from the Bible.
It’s right in the 10 commandments. It’s in Exodus 20:4, which you can read here!
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
The cross would definitely resemble anything that is “in heaven above”.
Now in the King James version, where it talks in Shakespearean language (thou, thee, art, asketh.. etc). There are times where they use “heaven” meaning the sky. But nonetheless, it’s still a graven image that man is making money off of.
Why Do I Say There Is No Difference?
Because a buddah statue and the cross are created by man’s hands. The Buddha statue that Buddhists worship today is created with man’s hands.
And guess what.
So is the cross that you may be wearing today.
The Bottom Line — “It’s Jesus’ Blood!”
Sure the cross is a reminder to us that Christ bore our sins upon the cross, but that doesn’t mean that it is right to make a cross and wear it.
2 BIGGGG and DIFFERENT THINGS!
God does not want us to go out in public and wear a cross to show others, “this is what I believe!“. He wants us to live it. And by us living it, and being a doer of the WORD, they will see your good works, and glorify Your Father which is in Heaven.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).
